Fashion Brands Embrace Inclusivity: Toddler with Down Syndrome Shines in Banana Republic Baby Collection Ad

    2 Mins Read

Fashion brands are finally taking steps towards inclusion and recognizing the importance of representing diverse communities. Although the industry has made strides in featuring models of various races and body types, there are still few groups worth watching. Among them, disabled people are performing their duties from today.

Victoria’s Secret recently launched its first Down Syndrome model in a major step towards inclusion. Now, Banana Republic has joined the movement by featuring a child with Down syndrome in its latest ad for its BR children’s collection.

This exciting campaign reflects the brand’s commitment to sustainability, warmth and inclusion. The company said: “The BR Baby collection is built on a promise to be more sustainable, welcoming and inclusive.

We want to celebrate diversity in all its forms, and in casting BR Baby we saw the perfect opportunity to lead the way. “We are so excited to offer this beautiful and lovely person her first modeling job.”

This adorable boy with Down syndrome puts a smile on our faces and reminds us of the beauty in everyone. The released photo shows her innocence and cuteness and naturally captures the joy and cuteness of the BR Baby Collection.

Kathy Driscoll, founder and president of Changing the Face of Beauty, an organization that works for equal representation of people with disabilities in the media, said she is “delighted” that companies are including people with disabilities in their advertising.

He emphasizes that the disabled community must be seen and recognized as the largest minority group in the world. One in five families have a personal relationship or affection for a person with a disability, raising the importance of inclusive representation.

As more brands embrace diversity and inclusion, we hope that featuring people with disabilities will become the norm rather than the exception. These important steps can help us build a society that embraces and celebrates the beauty and uniqueness of all its members. Let’s continue to support and celebrate brands that prioritize inclusion and fight for a more diverse and accepting world.
