Flight attendant Shelia Frederick felt uneasy when a man and a young woman were on board an Alaska Airlines flight from Seattle to San Francisco.
The girl was not as well dressed as the man, and she would not make eye contact with anyone. As Shelia worked on the plane, she couldn’t stop thinking about the girl.
Finally, she came up with a bold but brilliant idea. Thanks to his courage, this boy was saved from a terrible situation.
When Shelia delivered food on the plane, she couldn’t help but want to look into the girls’ eyes.
She expressed her fear to her colleague, and both tried to distract the man, while Shelia tried to get the girl’s attention.
“She finally looked up and the look on her face was just sad,” Shelia said. She comes up with a brilliant plan to lock one of the plane’s toilets with paper and pencil inside and open it only for the girls.
When her coworker got the man’s attention, Shelia stirred herself up in the bathroom and then pretended to write. Then she waited for the girl to understand.
Fortunately, the girl asked for an excuse to go to the bathroom. The man was with her outside the bathroom, but Shelia insisted on staying there to watch him.
Shelia explained: She said, “I left a letter in one of the toilets. “I need help,” she wrote in a note.
Shelia reported this to the pilot, who contacted ground control so authorities could meet the man upon landing.
The courageous flight attendant explains her story in the video below.
Shelia has remained in touch with the young woman she rescued from human trafficking, and they have spoken on the phone several times over the years.
According to the Western Journal, the young woman is also attending college.
“If you see something, inform yourself about it,” says Shelia.
