Skye Kastner’s story begins in the Galveston County Jail, where she overcame all odds to find her way into the world. Skye’s life took an unconventional path from the beginning. His mother was imprisoned at the time of his birth and did not play a significant role in his upbringing.
However, her father made the courageous decision to raise Skye as a single parent. He got her out of prison and started a new chapter with Skye. Despite the difficult circumstances, he provided her with love, support and guidance throughout her upbringing.

Skye’s efforts earned her third place in her class at Conroe High School last week and secured her admission to prestigious Harvard University to study law.

Skye’s intellectual abilities were evident from an early age. She excelled academically from an early age, and she displayed an insatiable appetite for reading. Teachers at Reeves Elementary School recognized Skye’s potential and believed that with additional instruction, Skye could really grow.

Mona’s leadership went beyond academics. She advised Skye to choose her first glasses, get her hair done at the hairdresser and enjoy her free time. Through their relationship, Skye discovered new opportunities and perspectives that transformed her into the amazing person she is today.

Skye’s desire to study at Harvard grew even stronger after visiting the campus with Mona and her husband in 2022. For advice on her application, she turned to Professor James Wallace of Boston University. Under Professor Wallace’s tutelage, she mastered the art of telling her story truthfully and convincingly. Skye has created an app that sets itself apart by sharing her unique journey, challenges, and victories.
