Most celebrity marriages are short-lived, so we’re surprised when we hear about stars who have been married for years and are still going strong.
One such union is that of Kevin Bacon, a popular movie star, and his wife Kyra Sedgwick. Bacon and Sedgwick first met when they were 12 years old. She said she met her brother after seeing a movie starring Bacon.
Of course, he was too young at the time to think much of it.
Ten years later, when they were working on Lemon Sky, their paths crossed again, but it seemed unlikely that they would end up together, as Sedgwick said she found him unattractive. On the other hand, he was in love with her from the start.
“It wasn’t my style,” the actress admitted to Wide Open Country. “After our first date, I remember looking at her bottom as I was leaving and thinking, ‘I guess some girls are like that.’
But they eventually met and married in 1988. The couple’s two children are solo musician Travis Sedgwick Bacon and daughter Saucy Ruth, who is following in her parents’ footsteps and pursuing a career in the film industry.
She is best known for her role as Skye Miller in the Netflix teen drama 13 Reasons Why.
Bacon and Sedgwick have been married for 34 years, but they’re still as much in love as they were on the first day. The Mystic River actor tells his wife how much he loves her every chance he gets.
“I don’t know how she does it, but she always makes me feel like the most beautiful woman in the room, the only girl in the room,” Kira explained. When asked the secret to a long and happy marriage, Bacon said:
“Whatever you do, don’t listen to celebrities talk about staying married. “Definitely their love and respect for each other is what makes their relationship so strong.”
“He is the perfect person. He is very moral. “I think it’s sexy to have strong morals and not lie or cheat!” Sedgwick is now open. “I am constantly impressed by Kevin’s calmness and lack of ‘craziness’.”
The two found out they were 9th cousins while appearing on the American TV program “Finding Your Roots”, but this did not affect their relationship. Kira felt uncomfortable but said it was fine.Although they look like cousins, they are distant relatives. After researching Kevin’s family history, the team discovered that Kevin’s 22nd great-grandfather was Edward I, who fought against William Wallace.
Kevin joked that he didn’t get enough attention about his ancestors and that it would be better if they weren’t cousins. Bacon and Sedgwick are spending most of their time at home due to the growing pandemic. He writes and the two “watch and read a lot,” he said. We are still learning. I’m still studying. I try to incorporate that into my work on a regular basis.”
One thing is certain. These two are one of the cutest couples in Hollywood. You do not believe?
