Reese Witherspoon was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in March 1976. He grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, but didn’t start acting until he attended Stanford University.
They received rave reviews for roles in Pleasantville and The Election and several TV episodes. Her breakthrough came in the 2001 comedy Legally Blonde.
Witherspoon’s portrayal of Elle Woods marked a turning point in her career. He won an Oscar for his role in the 2005 film Walk the Line. He has recently appeared in films such as This Means War, Wild and Water for Elephants.
Reese Witherspoon first met her husband Ryan Phillippe at her 21st birthday party in 1997. “I don’t know what happened to me, maybe seven Midori-san, but I said to Ryan, ‘You’re my birthday present,'” she says.
A year later, the couple married in a romantic ceremony in 1999 in Charleston, South Carolina. Their first child, Ava Phillip, was born three months later. Four years later, their son, Deacon, was born.
In an interview with Jay Leno, Reese discussed the origins of the name “Ava” and how she and her husband Ryan came up with it.
“My daughter’s name is Ava. Like Ava Gardner, because she was the only woman who could break Sinatra’s spell on me.” That’s why I think this name idea is elegant and powerful.”
As mentioned earlier, Ava decided not to follow in the footsteps of her actor parents. Instead, she went her own way, and now she’s all grown up and looks just like her mom Reese.
Ava Phillippe decided to attend UC Berkeley, a university located outside of San Francisco, California. Ava, a second grader, has decided not to live in a big house because her mother is a famous Hollywood celebrity.
She lives in a dormitory, which shows that she is following her own path and not her mother’s. They also have to drive a regular Volkswagen and not a premium car like the rest of the family.
Reese told Ellen DeGeneres that it was difficult watching her daughter go to college elsewhere. “When my daughter was in college, I would go to her spare room, lay on her bed and cry,” he admitted.
Ava took to Instagram to upload a photo of Reese during her visit. Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe announced their divorce in 2007, and the actress married her second husband, Jim Toth, in 2011.
Reese’s son Tennessee James Toth was born in September 2012. Earlier this year, Witherspoon discussed motherhood and how it relates to her book Little Fires Everywhere.
“It’s very difficult to define what a mother is. There are many passages in the novel that do that.” the actress told People magazine before reading an excerpt from the book.
“You must teach your child to live only by the smell of apples. If you want to eat an apple, sink your teeth into it and eat the seeds, core and all.”
“It’s a great way to communicate the loss of a growing child,” Reese said. “It hit me like an arrow in the heart because my daughter was entering college at the time.”
Ava studies in San Francisco, but is creative like her mother. She’s already made a name for herself in the fashion world, appearing in Rodarte’s fall 2018 collection lookbook and starring alongside superstars like Danai Guriara and Tessa Thompson. Ava Phillippe recently celebrated her 21st birthday.
