Speculation Surrounds Matthew Perry’s Death: Did He Relapse?

    2 Mins Read

The unexpected death of beloved actor Matthew Perry has left many with questions about the tragic incident. Speculation has swirled around his drowning in a hot tub, prompting theories about his health and potential drug use. As Perry’s ex-girlfriend and former assistant, Kayti Edwards, weighs in on the matter, more clues start to emerge.

Edwards, who dated Perry in 2006 and worked closely with him in subsequent years, believes there are details that don’t quite add up. In an interview with The Sun, she shared her doubts about the official explanation.

Edwards stated emphatically, “I don’t believe he just drowned in his Jacuzzi, that doesn’t sound right. I know Matthew, and I know he wouldn’t have just drowned.”

What does Edwards believe could be the missing piece of the puzzle? She raises the possibility of a relapse. Edwards suggests that a recent social media post by Perry hints at his potential substance use leading up to his death. As someone who knew Perry well, she draws attention to his altered behavior, posting more frequently than usual.

Additionally, he referred to himself as “Mattman” in his most recent post, a persona he created out of his love for Batman. Edwards explains that Perry only embraced this alter ego when he was not sober. She recalls, “Mattman would come out when he was not sober and he felt kind of invincible.”

Edwards also sheds light on Perry’s relationship with water and drugs. She reveals an incident where she was required to intervene when he was found naked and high in a neighbor’s swimming pool.

According to Edwards, Perry had a penchant for being in water when under the influence. She explains, “He always wanted to be in the pool or the Jacuzzi.”

The hardest part for Edwards is the lack of a chance to say goodbye. She mourns the loss of her friend, expressing regret that she couldn’t bid him farewell.

Perry’s untimely death has left a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
