The day had been nothing short of magical. Greg stood at the end of the aisle, radiating happiness, completely unaware of the storm that was about to descend upon him. From the outside, everything seemed perfect—smiles, laughter, and love filling the air. But beneath my wedding dress, I carried a secret that would shatter the illusion of our perfect union.

The reception was a grand affair. Greg’s parents were overjoyed, embracing me as their own. I played my part well, wearing a mask of joy and devotion, but inside, I knew the truth. Greg thought he knew me completely, but he was about to discover just how wrong he was.

The Shocking Revelation

As the night drew to a close, Greg could barely contain his excitement. His parents, ever the gracious hosts, offered us their master suite for our wedding night. I could sense his anticipation as he closed the door behind us, his hands already reaching for the zipper of my dress.

“I’ve been waiting all night for this,” he murmured against my neck.

I met his words with a secretive smile. “Me too.”

Slowly, he unzipped my dress. As the fabric pooled around my feet, I turned to face him. His expression transformed instantly—his eyes widened, his mouth fell open, and a horrified whisper escaped his lips.

“No… No, no, no! This can’t be happening!”

Across my torso, clear as day, was a tattoo of his ex-girlfriend Sarah, accompanied by the very words he had spoken to her the night before our wedding:

“One last taste of freedom before I’m bound to the same body forever.”

The tattoo was temporary, but Greg didn’t know that. The betrayal he thought he had hidden was now written across my skin for him to see.

The Weight of Betrayal

His voice broke with despair. “How did you find out?”

“Sarah was eager to rub your betrayal in my face,” I spat, watching his world crumble before him.

Tears welled in his eyes. “I didn’t mean it,” he pleaded, his voice thick with regret. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean it!”

Before either of us could speak further, footsteps echoed from the hallway. The door burst open, and Greg’s parents, Marianne and James, stepped inside, their faces etched with concern.

“What’s going on?” Marianne’s voice trembled. But as her eyes fell on the tattoo, the color drained from her face.

“It’s simple,” I said, my voice cold and unwavering. “Greg cheated on me.”

Marianne gasped. James stood frozen in the doorway, his usual quiet demeanor shattered by the weight of what he had just learned.

A Father’s Disappointment

For a long moment, silence filled the room. Then, James clenched his fists, his anger seething just beneath the surface. When he finally spoke, his voice was laced with fury.

“You’ve brought shame to this family,” he growled. “How dare you? How could you betray Lilith like this?”

Greg turned to him, his face streaked with tears. “I’m sorry,” he whispered. “I didn’t mean for any of this to happen. I—I made a mistake.”

“A mistake?” I repeated, shaking my head. “Sleeping with your ex the night before our wedding is not a mistake. It was a choice. A selfish, deliberate choice. And now you have to face the consequences.”

Greg reached for me, desperation in his trembling hands. “Please, Lilith… I love you. I’ll do anything. Please, don’t leave me.”

I let out a hollow laugh, void of warmth. “Love? You don’t even understand the meaning of the word.”

Walking Away

Greg continued to plead, but I had already made my decision. I turned to his parents, who were still reeling from the shock. Marianne’s face was streaked with tears, and James’s disappointment was palpable.

“I’m leaving,” I announced, my voice steady. “You can deal with him now.”

Greg choked out one final plea. “Lilith, please… Don’t go.”

But I didn’t even glance back. I wrapped my robe around myself, covering the evidence of his betrayal, and walked away. Each step down the stairs felt lighter, freer. The weight of deception and heartbreak no longer burdened me.

I had given Greg the perfect wedding. Now, I was giving myself the perfect ending—one where I walked away with my dignity intact, leaving him to face the wreckage he had created.
