The world needs more people willing to do nice things for strangers.
We never realize that our small gestures can mean something very big and important to the person next to us, so we should not hesitate to help whenever possible. It also makes you feel better when you help someone or don’t give them anything.
Joyce Rinehart went to her nephew’s tennis practice and decided to have ice cream together afterwards. As I was getting ready to leave after eating ice cream, I saw another family eating ice cream together and they seemed to be having a great time.
Joyce felt a strange need to photograph this family, so she asked if that would be okay, and they agreed. After getting her family’s permission, Joyce posted the photo on Facebook with a beautiful caption. “I took this photo and then I gave my daughter the phone and told her to send it to one of her phones.”
A few days later, Joyce received a text from a stranger. After reading the message, she was very emotional and couldn’t believe it.
The message came from the father of the family he had photographed. He said his wife died a few days after the trip to the gelateria and that the picture Joyce took was the last picture they took together.
So the man decided to thank Joyce for the nice gesture of posing with the photo. Even though she had been ill for over a year, Joyce learned that death always surprises us and that we should cherish every moment, especially the moments we spend with our loved ones.
This story also shows how small gestures can mean a lot to those around us. When Joyce found out what had happened, she was shocked and saddened that the wonderful family she had met had to endure such a difficult time.
Soon after, she decided to write a post on social media to encourage others to do acts of kindness. This is especially true for people who have similar intuitions about what happened to him. Here is the sweet message she posted: “Never underestimate random and beautiful gestures. My heart is breaking right now. Because it is incredible that he is in a loving family. Because I listened to my instincts and intuition that day, I gave them a gift that meant the world. I am surprised!”
