Many people, especially in this day and age, are struggling to pay their rent and provide for their families’ basic needs.
It appears that this young family may end up living on the streets after being ordered to leave their home with only seven days’ notice.
Parents of three young children are Joshua Thain, 27, and Amy Winter, 26.
Amy is currently expecting their fourth child. Sadly, the young couple is dependent on benefits and has been months without making rent.
By January 31st, the couple was required to vacate their residence. They are now waiting for them to smash the door down as a result.
“It’s so bad that we avoid going anywhere or doing anything because we’re afraid. My family has offered to assist, but they are only able to provide one- and two-bedroom homes, so they are unable to provide housing assistance.
My partner’s uncle is the only person attempting to assist, but he resides in Somerset. “.

Nobody wants to assist them, according to reports.
The housing association threatened to “put them on the streets,” according to Amy, who spoke to The Sun. The couple was given options, according to the Barnsley Council, but they declined because doing so would require the family to be divided.
Instead of telling us one thing and then another, I believe Barnsley Council needs to get off its behind and decide what it is going to do. After everything that’s happened, including Josh losing his mother, I said, “I ain’t separating my family just because you want me to.”. “.
Unfortunately, Sanctuary Housing owns the property, and neither of the couple’s names are on the lease. They claim that Victoria Robertshaw, Joshua’s mother, and they have been residing there. She was 45 years old when she passed away from Covid in August of last year.
The Council claims to have made every effort.
A Sanctuary Housing representative reportedly told Yorkshire Live that this wasn’t an impulsive or last-minute choice. Without paying rent for months, the couple has been residing in the house.

“On Monday, January 31, a judge granted an outright possession order for this property, requiring the occupants to vacate within seven days. The legal action arose from serious rent arrears that had accumulated due to months of nonpayment. This despite our efforts to find a solution prior to filing a lawsuit. “We have been working with Barnsley Council to make sure the residents can access alternative housing as soon as possible so that this property can then be offered to a family who are presently awaiting housing in Barnsley. “.
Mayor of Barnsley Jenny Platts continued. “Our housing team is still working with the couple, giving them suggestions for housing and encouraging them to look into other options. “.
